Lynne Sandri Artist I believe that art should be experienced through touch and sight

Lynne Sandri

About Lynne

Lynne's inspiration flows from nature and the landscape around her with which she feels a strong connection. Whether captured looking through the branches of a pohutakawa tree, the rough surface of stones, or the movement of water, her strong sense of colour is apparent.

"You can't help but be inspired by what is around you. I think what you see on a regular basis influences you. The more you look or open your eyes at the simplest of things or most familiar, can be where you find the greatest source of inspiration."

She is excited by the use of montage and its ability to relate a story with images that capture an imprint of time: what we are, where we were, what our land, sea and sky looked like at that moment.

Since focusing her creative energy into painting , Lynne has been rewarded with both commercial success and the personal satisfaction that comes from working at something you truly love. Her art has been commissioned for numerous private and corporate collections here and around the world. The continuing demand for Lynne's work means that she is usually working from a waiting list. However, she is always happy to discuss propositions for new work.

Lynne exhibits extensively in regular solo and group exhibitions in major galleries throughout New Zealand.

Her signature is contemporary, bold and incredibly tactile-you want to reach out and touch it and most importantly, it will bring a smile of remembrance of treasured things perhaps forgotten.

She is a regular exhibitor at the Academy of Fine Arts, and has been selected as an Artist Member. This status recognises the consistency of the high quality paintings she has produced.

Lynne studied art through Wellington Art School and studied intaglio printmaking with Jenny Dolezel at Wellington Polytechnic.

Other artists I work with include: Jane Kellahan, Sally Burton and Susan Webb.
